U can get unique essence from event hero monsters.
You need those stones to make 120, 180, 240 equipment. Different stone is for different proffesion.

If you go to the southern edge of the lake you can click on the water in certain spots and make it to the island that way. It's a small path through the water so it might take a bit of clicking to find it. You'll also have to kill the river snake blocking the way there.
